Seems like I had bot been posting for quite sometime huh.Alright, today, it is then. Let's just have a little recap... June Holidays, slacking at home... built one of those gundams, Strike Freedom, Lightning Edition, not successful, as I broke the circuit for the hands, chest, and legs. So, now after that, we come to term3, a whole new school term.
Back to 26 June, 2006, Monday. A long line of announcements, Tuesday, another long list, but with some good news, too, as Miss Lim was awarded the "Most Caring Teachers" Award. Next few days, intensive training just for that 5 minutes today...
Over the past 3 days, everything was fine, just that I kept forgetting the commands, and that worse of all, I did not know that those commands did not really existed!
So, today, gathered at 6.30, all uniforms ready, full strength, everyone was ready for the 5 minutes. 7.15am, Parade begins. Darrens heads off the parade with much seriousness. As for me, I,too was prepared, but fearful. Everything went fine, only until I was turning the contingent to face the front. Damn. I forgot the command... Anyway, I still went on with the shorter version, not knowing that Mr Hon had actually whispered the command to me... Everything went on fine for the next 3 minutes, but, once again, the last 2 minutes, I screwed up,indirectly, in the sense that I was saying the wrong command that was deemed correct, and was taught by a senior. But, nonetheless, not many people noticed it, except for a teacher, who, helped me to correct my mistake after everything. It was then I noticed that my commands were 90%, or around there, practically wrong. Anyway, what's past is past, no one could turn the clock around anyway, so, just let it be. There's going to be another 2 parades soon, so, why not let this be a "practice"? Above all, the good thing is, I seemed to have broken free of my oyster shell... just in time for flag day tomorrow...another 5 hours added to my already 40++ hours accumulated over the last 2 years.
To end it off, everyone did their best, and it's the best of our efforts that count...
