Today, even before the tour began, everyone in class was sulking away, about the broing tour we were going to have, except for ten lucky students, who got excused to do certain tasks after school, or were unwell and had to go home...
However, everything was about to ake a change for the better. It seems like the ten lucky students were not so lucky after all... The 34 students, together with 2 guides and 1 teacher were going on a bum boat ride along the Singapore River! Isn't that great? It's my first time, to be exact...
The tour was really good. There were small, minor hiccups along the way, but that never hampered the tour, although there was a slight delay.
The 10 main points of the tour( from the least attractive to the most):
10-Great bus, red and yellow, even had seat belts! The ride was really silent, especially the engines which hardly made any obvious rumbling, the only thing was the chatter of classmates at the rear.
09-Met 3E2 and 3E3 at China Town and Kampong Glam coincidentally.
08-It was close to the closing time to visitors at the Sultan's Mosque after the boat ride at Boat Quay. Seems like we made it in time to get to see the interior of a mosque.
07-It was close to Depavali,so Little India was undergoing a make over to prepare for it.
06-Found out a lot about Little India, Chinatown,Kampong Glam and the central Business District. They ranged from knowing where each location really was, since they are now just a few roads and streets away from one another.
05-The guides, and not to forget, the bus captain,of course!Without them, would the trip have been a great and memorable one?NO!
04-Yes!A small chance to catch the Singapore Biennale...
03-The barricades were removed near Suntec Singapore, making it a breeze to get a better view of the nice flowers along the road sides.
02-There were only 36 of us touring, so what's the difference without the ten VIPs?
01-Yes, you guessed it. The boat ride was certainly the "special edition" and "Hot spot" of today's tour. That could be why it costed S$800 for such a great tour, don't you think?
One last thing, though, is that many more attractions were covered than required. This is the next thing why the tour was so great. However, to cut a long story short, we saw many attractions today, learning every bit we could about them...And as for the quotes, there's one,"make more friends of other races and religions". Finally, this trip has left me wanting for more. maybe we could go again next year? Yes, but maybe not go through everything all over again, to save costs.
